Why have cotton when you can have silk?

I will go back in time by posting some old photos, which reminded me of warm careless spring days. I found them in my archive and I keep starring on my skeleton-like legs. I am not missing those kind of days, because the wind was almost blowing me away. The outfit seems to be very obedient, but the skirt is short and the front double cutting is very problematical, especially when it’s windy. The blouse is much more than a beautiful dream of old spring days: it’s silk. The mustard warms perfectly the toughness of the skirt, which Read more

Every time I go home, I want to collect cheerful moments, as many as possible. That’s why a photo session is the perfect occasion to enjoy the time spent with my friends.Actually, this hanging out reminded me of http://www.glamthug.com/2013/07/20/in-the-army/ , because we were more or less the same team and sun was strongly burning as in summer days.As you can see, my best friend and I had matched the outfits, but through simple telepathy.

What can you do when there are only 4 hours left to say goodbye to Barcelona? The secret is simple: Continue exploring, no matter how exhausted you are , even after walking over 20 km every day and partying hard until 6 am in the last night. Sagrada Familia was the single tourist attraction, which was untouched so, we took the metro because it was quite far away and we had a limited time.  I wanted to leave Barcelona

It was 4 o’clock and the guys called to tell us to be home in maximum 2 hours, because the landlord will come to check the flat and to get paid.  We were still trying to puzzle out the mystery of finding Park Guell. At least, English wasn’t a barrier and the citizens were trying their best to explain how to get there. Unfortunately, some of them were very discouraging by telling us that Park Guell is in the other side of Barcelona and Read more

Heading to Park Guell

DSC_0686

I am writing from Romania about the next episode in Spain, but I will jump straight to the forth day, because it was my good hair day and obviously more adventurous than the previous one. You know that feeling when your hair is perfectly fluffy and you’re wearing a glowing outfit. Therefore, my friend and I were ready to wrap Barcelona up. Two of the must destinations were Primark and Park Guell, which are totally unlike, but both requiring energy and ecstasy.

Already lost?!

When you’re a thirsty traveller, you’re meant to get lost, so there’s nothing to be afraid of. You are allowed to go with the flow and let your eyes explore more and more.

When looking for Primark in Barcelona, there are 2 options: L’illa shopping center Carrer de Deu i Mata, 69-99, Barcelona, Spania
+34 934 44 95 11 and Avinguda Diagonal, 3.

We had a good-quality sushi at NAGISA. I had a menu with sushi and noodles for 10 euros and it was delicious.

That was half of that day even if it looks like our day was over. Actually, you have no clue what other escapades we had that day. Keep checking my blog and you will find out more.

Primero día

IMAG1261

After 2 hours and a half on the plane, we bought a bus return ticket (€15.00  for a single and  €25.00  for a return) to Estació del Nord, which takes one hour and a half. No one was waiting us nowhere, so we had to figure out how to get to our accomodation and find a supermarket to buy Sangria and some snacks in the middle of the night. The apartment was situated within 30 minutes walking on Carrer de Cassanova, near Plaza Universidad, but it was the first time for us so we met few challenges: tiredness, hunger and ‘naughty’ key entrance. I still can’t believe how patient  were the boys in trying the key on and on for more than one hour. That wasn’t the biggest challenge of the night because the block was numbered in a Spanish way, so the devil was in the detail in finding the right floor.  When we opened the door, we were deliriously happy about the friendly apartment, because the vintage furniture matched perfect the other modern furniture pieces. Of course that we had taken a shower before everyone felt like home, played UNO, established the plan for tomorrow and drunk some wine. That took some time, so at 4 o’clock Read more

Reflect in style

Sunglasses are basically a warm-weather must, but also the perfect trick for a tired or no makeup face.  I am talking here about something more special such as mirrored sunglasses, because they seem to be a trend that won’t fall soon.

I wasn’t such a big fan of them, until I had realized what a big plus can add to your outfit. The secret is to wear them with a neutral outfit like black, white, grey or denim. Also, you can match them with your accessories.

I spotted some fashion bloggers or editorials on Pinterest for more inspiration, where you will find a large variety of sunglasses: oversized, wayfarer, aviator, retro, blue, green, silver, gold shades, etc.

ME!

As you can see, I am also wearing a pair of mirrored sunglasses, which are totally crappy because I bought them from a hypermarket, soon you cannot expect to protection against UV rays. The Aztec patterned blazer is another ‘cherry’ from my look. I bought it from Orsay, Germany because it was on sale and… I was in a mad mood.  Moreover, I thought that it will be a difficult job to mix it with something, so I made another stupid decision of  buying a navy T-shirt. Can’t you see? Stupid decisions may lead to success. I was going navy, more or less, so my new Zara navy coat was the last detail, which I was lacking of. I am really proud of this purchase, because I paid less than 40 euros and its normal price was 90 euros. I quickly fell in love with the straight, simple cut and the black shiny sleeve edges. All in all, the outfit quenched my expectations and it was the suitable choice for a sunny day with my friend in Kolding.

The floppy hat

It was nothing planned to wear a hat.I was about to leave, but I was still having second thoughts about my look, which was rather dull, than fabulous. So, I grabbed the hat which was the cherry on the cake. I bought it two years ago, but I didn’t have the guts or the right inspiration to show it to the world.

Moreover, it’s not an easy task to wear a hat in Denmark, especially when the wind is blowing with 30 km/h. There’s no doubt that a hat can add so much to your outfit, so that you will be rewarded with looks of admiration or confusion. My french attitude was brought back to life through that hat, so therefore I was 100% a mademoiselle.

Chanel-2-opener_1709211a

Did you know? Coco Chanel got into fashion by selling  millinery products, not couture.  She was designing plumed hats for herself and her friends, but then a famous actress began wearing Chanel hats. The first millinery shop opened in 1910 and then the business blossomed, so she was able to expand beyond the hats. The first couture shop opened in Paris in 1913. Read more

Copenhagen Streetstyle

Danish style definition

=throwing on lots of layers of clothing, wearing an unzipped coat (rather be cold, than look uncool), a statement necklace brightening your outfit,  having a chic messy bun and last but not least, wearing something black.

Copenhagen stands for Europe’s fourth largest fashion city. Mostly all the Danish designers emphasizes the art of clothing,  which suits to the unfriendly weather, but together with  citizens biking lifestyle, which is always coming with a fashionable flavour. No one can dictate to Danish people what should they wear. A sparkling necklace would fit perfect with some sneakers and a leather bag. I admire a lot this combination between sporty vibe and urban sophistication.

Purchasing vintage clothing is another must-have in Denmark, because it makes outfits look more unique and personal.

That being said, I am also going Danish, because it’s comfy, dashing and really cool. For example, when I have been to Italy, it was quite hard to find nice clothes, because I was more into the dark, simple ones, not colourful or shiny.

The photos were taken in autumn 2013, so you might find some differences between now and then.

Next episode

I got off the bed to defeat the strong sunlight and start another exhilarating day with a brunch in a snug place or even in the park.

The girls were bossy with me,even in the morning, and they forced me to try a really healthy ‘breakfast’ : banana and spinach smoothie, which was the perfect treat.  I was aware that more food will satisfy my appetite in the upcoming hours, but that smoothie was enough for the moment. We were ready. All black, all danish style.  I was the tourist, who was stopping at every 2 minutes to take photos and admire the surroundings. They were supposed to be my tourist guides, but we were all acting alike: taking photos anytime, but at least we were all heading in the right way.

We were welcomed by the Queen’s March and yeah  we’ll never be royals (royals) It don’t run in our blood. Haha!

My caprice was to go to Strøget, which is the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe. I wanted to be spellbound of how many well-dressed people are there, but not such a big luck because it was Sunday. My wallet was safe enough, thanks to the closed shops, but I couldn’t avoid to enter in Zara and guess what I’ve found. Sales, sales everywhere!

My friend was searching for the perfect little dress and I was unstoppable regarding what should I try on. I’ve finally agreed upon a pair of grey jeans, one cute black dress, one sweater, one navy jacket and other trousers, which looked horrible on me.  I decided to buy only two things: the dress and the coat, after dealing with my friends’ controversy.

It’s cold, but she’s chic

I told you I was planing an escapade with my friend. Hmm, it sounds a bit like a cliché to call it ‘escapade’, but why not, taking into consideration the ups and downs we had been through:

1.lassitude, 2.cold, 3.anger, 4.hunger, 5.satisfaction, 6.pleasure, 7.panic, 8. relax.

1.Lassitude: Let’s take it one by one.  After partying hard and coming home at 5 o’clock am because a friend’s birthday party, we were supposed to take the train from 10 in the morning, as far as I remember.  You cannot imagine what a nice jogging I made until I got to the train station. We were heading luckily to Aarhus. My bag was full of some makeup tools and food, because I didn’t have any time in the morning to prepare.

2.Cold: Welcome to Aarhus! Welcome to gloomy and windy weather.

20140109-DSC_0436

3. Anger: Cold weather and anger made a good pact to piss us off. No good photos, no opened shops, no people on the street. How can we survive 5 more hours in this city?

4.Hunger: Where to eat? Read more

Grey all day

It was weekend, so my friend and I needed a reason to meet, gossip a bit and plan an escapade somewhere, anywhere. What else could have brought us together, than some pictures? Easy to decide, hard to get off the bed and go somewhere.

It was a gloomy day. I wanted to break the rules by wearing a flower-power blouse, but I could feel the wind in my bones, so I added a cosy pale blue sweater. My friend and I established to go to the seaside to see for the first time how a frozen sea looks like. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy that too much, because the wind was blowing us away, but we had a great time catching up and taking some snaps. Anca, my friend and the photographer realized that it wasn’t my good day,so we stopped because she was complaining that my mood depends a lot on the weather, so you can imagine how ridiculous I felt.

At least, my faux fur coat was soothing my cold. It’s not that warm as it seems, but it’s cosy, fluffy and dashing. I was impressed of how many people asked me from where did I buy it. Well, you will be amazed to know that I purchased it from New Yorker on sale for only 15 €/DKK 150/ 99 RON. I’m not expecting to last more than 2 winter seasons, but it’s worth the money. I made anyway a good investment for my wardrobe, and everything started with sleepless nights. I think you can make a purchase more effective, thinking how bad you need/ like that thing and if you cannot sleep during the night, than it must be yours.

I wore that necklace from Glitter for the first time and it was a Christmas gift from my best polish friend. I need to find a special ocassion to wear it once again, but in other manner.

Only– Blouse

Glitter-Silver Flowers Necklace

Cache Cache-Sweater

Tailored Trousers from my first suit
