opera zurich

The top spot is taken by Singapore followed by Zurich and Hong Kong.

To begin with, let me get this straight: Zurich IS NOT the capital of Switzerland, BUT it’s the largest city in Switzerland ,and obviously, one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Zurich is a great city either to visit either to earn pretty good money and then run far away from it or even Switzerland.

Anyway, I was impressed by the shops, streets, trams, CARS, boutiques, chocolate, watches and every Swiss touch you can think of is sophisticated and well-designed. The town itself is very accessible and you can easily walk everywhere.Despite of what others say about Swiss people, I found them friendly and willing to help. I expected that Swiss will look in a certain way, like Danes- tall, blonde with blue eyes, but surprisingly they are very diverse: from Asian to Germany roots.

TIPS:

  1. If you are travelling on a low budget in Switzerland and you’re clueless about where to eat, I will strongly recommend you to try Migros or Coop restaurants. However, with the money spent there you could spoil yourself with a à la carte restaurant in Spain, for ex. Read more

zulu the color run

Zulu The Color Run was a blast as I expected. My favourite part was the party at the finish line with cool music and people. I cannot wait until The Color Run comes back and hopefully my friends will join. Unfortunately, I went there alone, but I met a cute Chinese girl.

The tour was even better than last year due to the better location, organisation and different activities.

For example,  all participants were taken by surprise with the Photo Booth where they could take pretty cool photos, body painting, Nestea bottles bathtubs and the list can go on. Additionally, the day after the event I received an email from Zulu The Color Run asking to introduce my running number, in order to check  photos of me while running. I said: ‘WOW, this technology’! and then the photos appeared.

That being said, København er du klar? On 12th of June The Color Run is coming to Copenhagen!

the atomium in brussels, what to visit in brussels, glamthug blog, trip in brussels blog, 10 reasons to love Brussels

It was love at first sight: Brussels and I. You will surely feel the same as me once you get there, so that’s why I will enumerate 10 reasons to love Brussels.

  1. Architecture. It was hard to decide what should be the on 1st place, but I guess this aspect amazed me the most since the Town Hall  was completed in 1420 . The architecture in Brussels varies from the clashing combination of Gothic, Baroque and Louis XIV styles on the Grand Place to the postmodern buildings of the EU Institutions. The must-sees are: Mont des Arts, Musical Instruments MuseumGrand Place, The AtomiumPlace Poelaert near Palace of JusticeArcades du Cinquantenaire, which was built between 1904 and 1905 by the architect Charles Girault. The triple arcade commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of Belgian independence).

2. Gaufres. Notable specialities include gaufres/waffles, therefore we ordered 2 different ones, Brussels and Liege with some delicious toppings over.

3. Chocolate. Shame on me! I didn’t try it but I know it well from the ice creams with Belgian chocolate. Did you know that Belgium and Switzerland are the most important producers of chocolate in Europe?

4. Royal Greenhouses of Laeken. Every spring, the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are open to the public for 3
weeks. Mom and I were very keen to see the gorgeous flowers and architecture  of Alphonse Balat, but the 4 hours queue told us to come back other time. Read more

From where I live to Berlin there are only 580 km and dad and I thought that would be a good excuse to escape for awhile from Denmark. The Easter break was getting closer, so we decided to embrace the adventure. It look longer to get there than I was expecting, because of the traffic jams and, to be honest, one stop at Designer Outlet Neumunster .

We stayed at Park Plaza Berlin , a hotel with too many facilities for simple tourists, but we extremely enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is situated in Ku’damm, one of the most famous avenues in Berlin and it’s like Oxford Read more

spring in denmark, life in horsens, student life in denmark

Spring is FINALLY here and I emphasized ‘FINALLY’ because we have been waiting a lot for warmer days and flowers ready to bloom in Denmark. Spring is such a beautiful season! How exciting to see signs of life after winter. As long as spring is here, I will try to fill my room with flowers. You should try it too! It changes your mood instantly.

However, I would have loved to present you an outfit in the colours of the year (rose quartz and serenity), but unfortunately I couldn’t find the perfect items in the shops. Anyway, as today is the International Day of Happiness, I thought that would be nice to celebrate it with a new post here

After 3 years of long hair, I finally decided that it is time for a change: a new haircut! People around me were making plans or the famous resolutions for the rest of the year, but I didn’t have something precise than few things about my perception and character. Then, I saw how my hair was spreading all over the places, so I scheduled an appointment at the salon.

As I was explaining to many curious people, the cause of donating my natural hair to the children with cancer pushed me much more to do it than the need for

an adjustment. So, here I am whipping my hair back and forth as Willow Smith’s song says. I mean this haircut gives me freedom and Read more

Beach Body, Island in Crete, orange swimsuit, jolidon

There are plenty day trips  when choosing Crete. For example, we decided to go to an island off the coast of Crete, called Spinalonga. Today Spinalonga is mainly known as the Leper Island, because  it was a leper colony from 1903 until 1957.  The boats depart regularly from Agios Nikolaos, Elounda and Plaka and the ticket costs 10 euros.

Unfortunately, our expectations were higher than what we found there, but it might have been interesting for those who were passionate about history. Anyway, we enjoyed the long ride Read more

Beach near Rome

What else is great about going to Rome besides discovering the history and tasting the great Italian food? Well, the fact that Rome is very close to the seaside and it  is nothing but great to dip your toes in the sand. After several discussions with my friend, we decided to take the train from Termini to Santa Marinella beach. We came to that decision mainly due to the easiness of getting there, be Read more

Piazza Navona, Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II, Roma Basilica di Santa Maria in AraCoeli, Isola, The Pantheon,  Traian Column, Quirinale,  Marcello Theater are few of the places that made my third day in Rome, therefore I discovered more of Rome.

I must say that Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II and The Pantheon were two of the most outstanding tourist attractions that definitely caught my eyes. A vaporous orange-ish playsuit from H&M  gave me the energy to conquer Rome. Let’s discover more of Rome with the following photos!

Color Run Aarhus wasn’t my first experience with this non-toxic colored powder.  In fact, I had been through this before, but this time was twice crazier. Why crazier? In general, because of the people and the weather conditions. Yeah, living in Denmark always comes down to weather, when finding excuses or describing situations.

Since the first race in 2012, The Color Run exploded across the globe. From more than 50 events and 600,000 participants in 2012 to over 100 events and more than 1 million participants in 2014. However, I wanted to join this event, as soon as I’ve heard about it. I’ve tried to convince more people from Horsens, in order to go as a team and obtain a good discount as well. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen because of different priorities and mainly the discouraging weather. When I started to have second thoughts of selling my ticked, I finally convinced a friend to join me and to run for 5 km.  Besides, worrying about parking place and arriving late, everything went great. As soon as we got there, Read more

After spending 2 weeks again in my home country with my beloved ones and FINALLY deciding which smartphone to purchase ( it took me 5 months to figure out that HTC Desire EYE is the one for me) , my parents  and I went on a trip to an unexplored country: Sweden. We or better said I started off on the wrong foot by breaking 2 pretty valuable Swedish kronas notes . Getting lost, being additionally charged for food that we didn’t order, sharing Romanian delicatessen with hotel’s receptionists at 2 am are some of the adventures we ran into. Oh, we booked one night at an amazing boat hotel Read more

The last month of 2014 was crowded, a bit stressful in what the exams are concerned, but most of all meaningful because I spent it with the people I love the most. Oh yeah…and tons of traditional food. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy snow on Christmas days, but the real winter atmosphere came later. The summary of December 2014 is showed in the next photos by starting with the day before leaving to Romania and finishing with New Year’s Eve.

I had an amazing holiday and I am so blessed that I am currently  spending  again the holiday after exams in Romania.jup Read more
