After 2 hours and a half on the plane, we bought a bus return ticket (€15.00 for a single and €25.00 for a return) to Estació del Nord, which takes one hour and a half. No one was waiting us nowhere, so we had to figure out how to get to our accomodation and find a supermarket to buy Sangria and some snacks in the middle of the night. The apartment was situated within 30 minutes walking on Carrer de Cassanova, near Plaza Universidad, but it was the first time for us so we met few challenges: tiredness, hunger and ‘naughty’ key entrance. I still can’t believe how patient were the boys in trying the key on and on for more than one hour. That wasn’t the biggest challenge of the night because the block was numbered in a Spanish way, so the devil was in the detail in finding the right floor. When we opened the door, we were deliriously happy about the friendly apartment, because the vintage furniture matched perfect the other modern furniture pieces. Of course that we had taken a shower before everyone felt like home, played UNO, established the plan for tomorrow and drunk some wine. That took some time, so at 4 o’clock Read more
I believe that traveling widens your horizons and I am attracted to each new place, culture or experience as you can see from my posts. The life isn’t long enough to see all the world.
I am flying to Barcelona on 1st of April and it’s not a joke, even though it’s April Fools’ Day. I was initially supposed to go only with my dear polish friend to break the routine. I later discovered that other 4 guys have chosen the same destination and period, so a crazy and cost-effective idea crossed in our mind: to rent a flat together. It was something spontaneous, considering the fact that I know 2 of the guys and my friend doesn’t know none. After sleepless nights of selecting the perfect basic flat, we agreed on the best one because it’s situated in the center, in Plaza de Catalunya and it’s big enough for us.
The conclusion was more up to the majority, the boys and I was shocked to find out that they liked this girlish apartment. Moreover, one of the boys discovered that the flat is right next to H&M and Zara, so it won’t be a problem if I don’t have something to wear, because I can go there even in pajamas.
Wish that I could say ‘ I have never been so well-prepared’, but I am lacking of energy because of the National Conference with AIESEC. At least, my outfit is ready with ‘Great Expections’ and my phone is full of applications (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slashmobility.restalo&hl=en -for food, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guides.minube.barcelona&hl=en , https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tripadvisor.android.apps.cityguide.barcelona for visiting )which are meant to ease these 4 days in Barcelona.
I can’t wait to explore the city for the 2nd time! I want to enjoy the Spanish sun, try to speak Spanish, take breathtaking and fancy photos, drink Sangria, eat Paella, visit a lot by foot, make new Spanish friends, check the nightlife, make shopping on Passeig de Gracia, where would Julia Roberts shop during Pretty Woman movie, etc
I have high expectations and I hope this trip will meet them!
Sunglasses are basically a warm-weather must, but also the perfect trick for a tired or no makeup face. I am talking here about something more special such as mirrored sunglasses, because they seem to be a trend that won’t fall soon.
I wasn’t such a big fan of them, until I had realized what a big plus can add to your outfit. The secret is to wear them with a neutral outfit like black, white, grey or denim. Also, you can match them with your accessories.
I spotted some fashion bloggers or editorials on Pinterest for more inspiration, where you will find a large variety of sunglasses: oversized, wayfarer, aviator, retro, blue, green, silver, gold shades, etc.
ME!
As you can see, I am also wearing a pair of mirrored sunglasses, which are totally crappy because I bought them from a hypermarket, soon you cannot expect to protection against UV rays. The Aztec patterned blazer is another ‘cherry’ from my look. I bought it from Orsay, Germany because it was on sale and… I was in a mad mood. Moreover, I thought that it will be a difficult job to mix it with something, so I made another stupid decision of buying a navy T-shirt. Can’t you see? Stupid decisions may lead to success. I was going navy, more or less, so my new Zara navy coat was the last detail, which I was lacking of. I am really proud of this purchase, because I paid less than 40 euros and its normal price was 90 euros. I quickly fell in love with the straight, simple cut and the black shiny sleeve edges. All in all, the outfit quenched my expectations and it was the suitable choice for a sunny day with my friend in Kolding.
Danish style definition
=throwing on lots of layers of clothing, wearing an unzipped coat (rather be cold, than look uncool), a statement necklace brightening your outfit, having a chic messy bun and last but not least, wearing something black.
Copenhagen stands for Europe’s fourth largest fashion city. Mostly all the Danish designers emphasizes the art of clothing, which suits to the unfriendly weather, but together with citizens biking lifestyle, which is always coming with a fashionable flavour. No one can dictate to Danish people what should they wear. A sparkling necklace would fit perfect with some sneakers and a leather bag. I admire a lot this combination between sporty vibe and urban sophistication.
Purchasing vintage clothing is another must-have in Denmark, because it makes outfits look more unique and personal.
That being said, I am also going Danish, because it’s comfy, dashing and really cool. For example, when I have been to Italy, it was quite hard to find nice clothes, because I was more into the dark, simple ones, not colourful or shiny.
The photos were taken in autumn 2013, so you might find some differences between now and then.
I got off the bed to defeat the strong sunlight and start another exhilarating day with a brunch in a snug place or even in the park.
The girls were bossy with me,even in the morning, and they forced me to try a really healthy ‘breakfast’ : banana and spinach smoothie, which was the perfect treat. I was aware that more food will satisfy my appetite in the upcoming hours, but that smoothie was enough for the moment. We were ready. All black, all danish style. I was the tourist, who was stopping at every 2 minutes to take photos and admire the surroundings. They were supposed to be my tourist guides, but we were all acting alike: taking photos anytime, but at least we were all heading in the right way.
We were welcomed by the Queen’s March and yeah we’ll never be royals (royals) It don’t run in our blood. Haha!
My caprice was to go to Strøget, which is the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe. I wanted to be spellbound of how many well-dressed people are there, but not such a big luck because it was Sunday. My wallet was safe enough, thanks to the closed shops, but I couldn’t avoid to enter in Zara and guess what I’ve found. Sales, sales everywhere!
My friend was searching for the perfect little dress and I was unstoppable regarding what should I try on. I’ve finally agreed upon a pair of grey jeans, one cute black dress, one sweater, one navy jacket and other trousers, which looked horrible on me. I decided to buy only two things: the dress and the coat, after dealing with my friends’ controversy.
Week 8- exhausting routine: internship, work, driving 120 km every 5 days of the week, sleep. I need a SPA day or to be spoiled.
It’s Friday and a friend is asking me to go out in the weekend, but without mentioning what he has in mind. Therefore, I refused him with no hesitation, but then he expressed his regret that I am not able to join him to a trip to Copenhagen and I had sincerely been thinking those days about going there. So, the situation made a 180 degree turn and I accepted.
It was 9 am and I was struggling to keep my eyes opened and finish the little luggage for the trip. I was packing in a crazy rush, but my friend calmed me down telling me that the other passengers are Italians, who are always late. I was finally in a eco- friendly FIAT with my friends and heading to Copenhagen. All was great, until we found out how much we have to pay, in order to pass The Great Belt Bridge : around 40 euros/ dkk. 320 for one way, so we had thought we could swam on the way back.
It took only 3 hours to arrive in Copenhagen. We were ready to conquer the city, after having a big adventure with the driver/ the photographer, who had been driving driving without hands on the steering wheel because he had to take some photos.
Before doing that, we had to stop by the train station because my friend was going back to Italy next day and she had to get rid of her luggage. I have known how expensive is Copenhagen, because it was the third time going there, but this time it just left me with an empty wallet. I paid 20 euros/dkk. 130 for a 24 timer ticket, which lets you use any kind of transportation and for all the zones. Luckily, the weather was so bright that we preferred to go by foot, rather than not visiting it properly and going by metro.KFC was in our way, so it worked like magic to have ‘lunch’ there. I’ve been fiending for that moment when I will be with a lot.
‘Oh, such a nice quote. Wait, let me take a photo of it.Oh great: No card memory inserted. Holy crap! I left it home’… so the nightmare was about to start. My ‘dear’ HTC, I will wear you out.
I felt like a chic mermaid, who was walking on the beach. No heels, no worries, no cold wind. I had my red dress on and I was dancing in the dark in the pale moonlight ( like Lana del Rey’s song). The dress was a gift from my bestfriend and I didn’t know how gorgeous I look with it. Haha, it seems that I’m not so modest tonight, so I’ll better shut up and let you to get lost in the paradise, as I like to call it. Special thanks to my mom, who was a patient photographer.
I am about to have a short trip to Neos Marmaras. I am finally escape from this resort and I’m discovering new places. My internet and time is limited, because I came here to enjoy these wonderful summer days , so I will let you to admire the next photos. Regarding my look, I preferred something an asymmetrical loose blouse, because it’s not pleasant to wear well-fitted clothes during summer, which stick to your skin and you can barely breath in them. The snapback Read more
As my holiday is coming to an end, I’ve decided to refresh your memory about where I am now and the reason why I couldn’t be so active these days. I’m spending the most beautiful holiday in Greece so far. This country has many breathtaking views and that’s why , you should travel a lot and try other beaches as well. Certainly, there are some things that holds me back from feeling great, such as a terrible cold. Moreover, I was supposed to go on a cruise to Skiathos today, but unluckily we got a litttle bit more lost on the road and we couldn’t make it on time. Having said that, I will now go to rest a bit, because there’s a long way back home.
Skin gets darker & hair gets lighter
Hello / γεια σας ( correct me if I’m wrong) ! I am in Greece for the first time and everything is perfect: warmth, cocktails, nights out ( unfortunately, with my parents), sleep, beach, sports(I haven’t even started) , trips and FOOOOD. It was a last minute decision to go to Sithonia and I don’t feel sorry at all. Sithonia is one of the three arms ( Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos). That’s it because I’m running out of sun and it would be a pity to lose such hot day. I will keep you updated with more details. The photos were taken in the first day.
I can finally say that ‘this city never sleeps’. I went to a concert on Saturday and it was a blast. There were many bands singing, but also some dancers. The main artists that came were Muri & Mario ( This song is very popular in Denmark) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjvfER4StSY ) and Kristoffer Rahbek ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F2Jc6qQTCA ) . People came especially for them, but also to sustain their friends who were on the stage. I appreciated the simplicity of how this event was organised. Moreover, people were comfortably dressed and warm enough to face the cool air. During the show, a friend of mine was making a fachiri show ( playing with fire). Many people were breathless, because it’s dangerous to do that and you need to practice hard. Moreover, it was very nice to see everyone dancing on the stage at the end of Muri & Mario’s performing. They really know how to entertain the crowd.
I will upload later some photos with me on a new post. Stay tuned and enjoy the last hours of Sunday 🙂
Sun, food, friends, fun – that’s all about International Day, which was organised today at VIA. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to help my colleagues with cooking , but they prepared the most delicious food: Sarmale, Meatballs with onion, Filled Eggs and Filled Plums. For sure, this was another proof that Romanian food makes happy your tummy. Unluckily, we ran out of food in maximum 30 minutes because a lot of people were queing to get to know the Romanian taste. As you can see, I was wearing a special outfit: traditional costume from Romania and I felt really proud of it. Beside this event, my week was amazing and full of new experiences. I’m talking about my first work, which was successfully accomplished, even if I had to stand up for 7 hours. Moreover, my parents came here for a week, due to Easter Holiday and they are having a wonderful time.
