What does it mean to be an AIESEC-er?

According to Wikipedia,  AIESEC is an international not-for-profit organization that provides students with leadership training and internship opportunities at for-profit and not for profit organizations. AIESEC, comes from the French acronym for Association internationale des étudiants en sciences économiques et commerciales (English: International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences). There are over 86,000 members come from a variety of college majors not necessarily from an area related to economic or commercial sciences. AIESEC is offering two products: GCDP ( Global Community Development Programme) and GIP (Global Internship Programme).

I joined AIESEC in September 2013, thanks to a friend, who I can easily call my mentor, considering how much she has been inspiring me lately. She was the president for our Local Committee and her future is now brightening with ECCO. Moreover, I was surrounded by AIESEC-ers: classmates and friends. AIESEC was slowly transforming into their only air existing in the atmosphere and I don’t know how, this air begged me to try it. At that time, I wanted to be ‘more than my degree’ and that was the suitable decision. This air had something magical that I had been looking for long time ago and that’s why I fell easily under AIESEC’s spell.

Am intrat in AIESEC in Septembrie 2013, datorita unei prietene, pe care o pot numi mentorul meu, avand in vedere cat de mult m-a inspirat in ultima perioada.

The AIESEC’s glitter are the conferences, which are set up around Denmark ( or the country of studying) or even somewhere else in Europe and are planned by each entity. A 3 day conference is more than anything else, because it provides you with deep knowledge, lots of friendships, interactive sessions, fun, sleepless nights, so unforgettable memories. Unknown abbreviations,  thematic parties, challenge competitions, nordic circles are few of the activities, which will make you so addicted to these conferences.  All this effort is thanks to motivated participants at the conference, organizing committee facilitators, chair, DJ, etc.

My first national conference was called Citius, which was held on October in Aarhus.  In first day, everything was messy, but in a nice way because I was seeing lots of new faces. I couldn’t overcome the tiredness, the next day so I made the choice to miss few sessions and go to bed (sleeping-bag, actually). My boss was arguing, me and others quitters, out of doing so, and  then I had realized that I went there totally for another reason, not relaxing. Moreover, the trump card was about the Google’s participation. Yeah! We had 2 awesome employees from Google, who revealed us some secrets about the company. Yet, the conference was a blast thanks to the helpful sessions, Super Heroes thematic party, kissing challenge competition, sugar cubes, punishments, rewards, awards, roll calls and the list can go on.

The second national conference was Altius, which was held on February in Aalborg. The uniqueness of the conference, is that we attended to the Denmark MCVP’s  (Member’s Commitee Vice Presidents) elections. So, the second day of the conference was full of speeches more or less catchy. Some of the speeches were given live, but the others candidates were from all around the world so this was made through Skype, which was slightly tedious. Of course that I learnt something from every speech, starting with the analyze of body language together with by friends and finishing with the quality of the sound/image.Moreover, the theme of the party was ABC : ‘Anything, but clothes’, so we had no choice, than to respect it
