The second day was a blast, because I had a day off and plenty of time for myself. I woke up early in the morning with a big appetite for a smoothie and I ended up drinking that and eating baklava and in Bazar West. Then, I went for a ‘short’ walk downtown, where I got completely lost because of the tempting sales. Read more

The 1st day of Northside Festival was like a dream that came true, because I had the amazing occasion to see Lana del Rey, but of course there were many levels to pass until I got there. I could have easily paid 250 euros for a ticket and enjoy the whole festival without any worry, but I did it in a cheaper and funnier way by applying as a volunteer. In fact, it’s not about the money, but it’s more about the experience that you get and how much you expand your network. Nevertheless, my good friend, Anca is a master in volunteering, so I followed her advice. If you want to enjoy 3 days of the festival, you will have to work 16 hours. So far so good. When I received the acceptance email, I was both exhilarated and afraid of the next steps, as my team was called Read more
What can you do when there are only 4 hours left to say goodbye to Barcelona? The secret is simple: Continue exploring, no matter how exhausted you are , even after walking over 20 km every day and partying hard until 6 am in the last night. Sagrada Familia was the single tourist attraction, which was untouched so, we took the metro because it was quite far away and we had a limited time. I wanted to leave Barcelona
So let me tell you about the second day or better said, segundo dia, amigos!
1st stop: Mercat de la Boqueria (Rambla, 91, 08002 Barcelona, Spain). We were starving, so we went to search a place for having a Spanish breakfast in La Boqueria, which was very close to us. There were 15 degrees, so we behaved like Danish people staying on the terrace. The waiter handled really well the challenge of speaking English, so he advised us what to eat. My choice, which was mainly his choice was not the best one, because I had butifarra, which is a sausage made of raw pork and spices. Guys were crazy about seafood and my friend had a vegetarian Catalan tortilla/ omelette. Obviously, we couldn’t refuse the large variety of smoothies of only 1,50 euros.
Danish style definition
=throwing on lots of layers of clothing, wearing an unzipped coat (rather be cold, than look uncool), a statement necklace brightening your outfit, having a chic messy bun and last but not least, wearing something black.
Copenhagen stands for Europe’s fourth largest fashion city. Mostly all the Danish designers emphasizes the art of clothing, which suits to the unfriendly weather, but together with citizens biking lifestyle, which is always coming with a fashionable flavour. No one can dictate to Danish people what should they wear. A sparkling necklace would fit perfect with some sneakers and a leather bag. I admire a lot this combination between sporty vibe and urban sophistication.
Purchasing vintage clothing is another must-have in Denmark, because it makes outfits look more unique and personal.
That being said, I am also going Danish, because it’s comfy, dashing and really cool. For example, when I have been to Italy, it was quite hard to find nice clothes, because I was more into the dark, simple ones, not colourful or shiny.
The photos were taken in autumn 2013, so you might find some differences between now and then.
I told you I was planing an escapade with my friend. Hmm, it sounds a bit like a cliché to call it ‘escapade’, but why not, taking into consideration the ups and downs we had been through:
1.lassitude, 2.cold, 3.anger, 4.hunger, 5.satisfaction, 6.pleasure, 7.panic, 8. relax.
1.Lassitude: Let’s take it one by one. After partying hard and coming home at 5 o’clock am because a friend’s birthday party, we were supposed to take the train from 10 in the morning, as far as I remember. You cannot imagine what a nice jogging I made until I got to the train station. We were heading luckily to Aarhus. My bag was full of some makeup tools and food, because I didn’t have any time in the morning to prepare.
2.Cold: Welcome to Aarhus! Welcome to gloomy and windy weather.
3. Anger: Cold weather and anger made a good pact to piss us off. No good photos, no opened shops, no people on the street. How can we survive 5 more hours in this city?
4.Hunger: Where to eat? Read more
This semester came almost to an end and my university is throwing a party on each semester, as I’ve informed you before. See previous post about Army Party http://glamthug.com/2012/11/18/i-need-a-soldier/ . DSR was in charge of everything. On their facebook page was created a poll with 3 themes: Moulin Rouge, Begger and I can’t remember the last one. Anyway, people have voted for the first one, which proved to be the perfect decision. It was very nice organised and we had some few dancing moments held by Hip-Hop and Salsa team.
!!! If they they had played musical songs I would have appreciated much more. It’s difficult to satisfy everyone, and probably not so many people would have enjoyed that. Anyway, that could have been another opportunity to get us more into the theme.
The students were dressed according to the dress-code: suit and tie/bow tie for men and …here comes the delightful part and it’s obvious about women. The significance of Moulin Rouge involves passion and of course red, once I have mentioned the precedent one. Girls were looking provocative from head to the toes. The hair was curly or braided and decorated with an abundance of accessories such as hats, sequins, different feathers and small veils.
Then, you have two ways to choose what to wear. On one hand, you could opt for a sexy style by wearing a velvet dress ( like I wanted to) or be more burlesque with a corset, suspender hosiery and high heels.
On the other hand, you could choose somehow the androgynous style, which lies in a white blouse, bow tie, tail coat and shorts. I made my decision on last minute thanks to a friend.I was desperate to find what to wear and I had been searching the perfect costume for several days, but it was only misfortune. I wanted to borrow a bow tie, but then I remembered about my hair clip from H&M.
The party ended at 2 o’clock and then we had moved to an after party in the campus, until police came. They were coming for more that 3 times, because they didn’t know how to handle the noise, but then they found a solution.
I will upload later more photos from the party!
Stay tuned and enjoy your Sunday 🙂
Thanks Juan ( https://www.facebook.com/juan.morales.75839?fref=ts ) for the last photos!
First of all, I would like to wish you Happy Easter and… Happy Men’s Day! Anyway, I’m proud to be an orthodox christian, so therefore I prepared with my mom some traditional food. Unfortunately, I forgot to paint the eggs, which is one of the most important things for my tradition. No worries or regrets, because I woke up at 7:30, due to a long and relaxing ‘nap’ of 13 hours. So, now I’m spying the eggs until they are ready to be boiled and painted with red color. I will come back later with some photos.
I had a chill Saturday at the harbour. The forecast showed 19 degrees and I couldn’t resist staying home for the entire day. So, I had a bright idea to go to the harbour and have a picnic. I won’t reveal how it worked because I limited myself to one sandwich, some bottles of Breezer and fruits. Sun was a bit cruel , like it wanted to revenge on us because its sun rays were ceaselessly appearing and disappearing. There’s no much left to say regarding my… outfit. It’s already too much to call it like this, because I didn’t choose it carefully. I took a look inside my wardrobe and then I went with the flow. I’m sure that I will be sitting and laughing in front of the computer by a lapse of time because of my ‘inspired’ outfit.
PS: Thanks to all for the tremendous success of my last post about the International Day ( almost 800 views) .
‘I scream ICE-CREAM’ while I’m sitting at my desk and chasing the sun. I could have sworn from the beginning of the morning that sun won’t show up today, but look it up and it’s still shining outside. That’s wonderful, because I had thought that Wednesday provided me with enough ‘amount’ of sun for the next months. Wednesday, 17 of April and 17 degrees. With such a good weather, I got easily ‘over the hump’ by going to school and then being spoiled in the park. The sun plays a huge role in enjoying my day. It gladden my heart by letting me to wear light clothes. I was wearing a grey skirt, which was bought last summer. Its color expressed eternal boredom and even agedness. Actually, one of my friends tried to mock me by saying that my skirt looks similar to his grandmother’s clothes. What could I say? He should be proud of his grandmother for being on trend. Moreover, on the bike= on the rack, when it comes to wear a skirt. Read more
I’m in love with narrow streets, where you can get lost and take awesome photos. I’m suppose that a street like that, has an amazing history with many memories. It’s noisy, crowded and there are many people, who are rushing to be on time at work either you can find confused tourists, who are trying to find their way back, as I usually am. At the beginning of the day, we had decided to go to Waterloopleinmarkt, Museumplein, where you can find the Amsterdam letters and Rijksmuseum and Vondel Park . Of course, that we couldn’t face the cold weather , so we snugged in an Italian restaurant. Then, the group had to divide, but I took on the off chance with my friend a tram to an unknown destination. We just wanted to warm our hands. Read more
It’s a crying shame the way how people are treated.’My mom told me:’Poverty dehumanize people‘ .It’s sad, but true and this is why we need to struggle and to appreciate every little thing.I don’t really know how things are working home but I can imagine. You’re just looking for your own purpose, aren’t you? What’s more important: to look pretty or to put a smile on someone’s face?A smile is more pretious than a pair of shoes. Most of the people from Romania have the habit to ruin your day. Here, abroad is completely different. When someone see you that you’re not in a good mood, he is trying his best to give you a lift. Also, when I lost the flight I thought that was the baddest day of my life.Someone saw that I was down in the mouth, so she cheered me up .I sometimes wonder why I had to face so many unfair things in life. Yet the means of fulfilling human wants are unlimited but there are other important values in life:HEALTH.
Many people are declared insane because of the stress.Nowadays are though times, when cancer is making the law in what diseases are concerned. Also, my grandmother died because of it.I must, we all must see the glass as half full.If I had caught the flight I wouldn’t have met amazing situations and people.I had recently the pleasure to meet a wonderful woman who is suffering from cancer. She is full of life and she has so many activities. For instance, she planned to organise a Christmas fair in order to raise funds for charity. It’s admirable that she still has power to enjoy life and to help others in need.
Every cloud has a silver lining!
Hello there!
